The course takes place as an online E-portfolio assessment.

You will need to gather evidence from your place of work that demonstrate your competence as an experienced electrician over a variety of electrical activities. This can be completed at your own pace, from as little as two months up to a maximum of eighteen months.

How you’ll be assessed.

After working with CS Learning to produce your portfolio, it will be internally assessed before being sent to City & Guilds for approval. You will receive ongoing support and feedback until you have passed your NVQ, at which point you will take the AM2E practical assessment.

If succesful, you achieve a Level 3 certificate which opens the doors to achieving an installation electrician gold card (ECS).

Very good course with excellent content and delivery, would be worth having a shorter version for supervisor management level as there is a lot of people in the industry not fully aware of the risks and dangers.

FAQs

Why do I need the experienced worker qualification?

If you’ve been doing the job for years but never got formally certified, this qualification validates your skills without starting from scratch, increasing your earning potential.

What does the qualification allow me to do?

The 2436-03 is a route to achieve the Gold Card (Skilled Worker). This card is often required to work on UK construction sites, and without it your access to certain jobs could be limited.

What level of experience do I need to take the course?

You must have been working in the industry for over 5 years, and have worked across a variety of disciplines that thoroughly demonstrate your competence as an experienced electrotechnical worker.

How long is the course?

The course has a degree of flexibility and can be completed at the learners pace. As quickly as two months, or up to a maximum of eighteen.
