This course is intended for those that have a base knowledge of UPS systems. We assume that participants already understand the basic principles of UPS and their importance in critical infrastructure.

This course primarily caters to IT Managers, Facilities Managers and Maintenance Technicians.

We commence by providing candidates with the requisite theoretical background before moving on to hands-on training. This approach allows candidates to apply learned concepts to real-life scenarios, which they are likely to encounter whilst operating UPS systems

Throughout the course, learners will have the opportunity to work directly on UPS and battery systems battery simulating common situations in a controlled and safe environment. This enhances their understanding and prepares them for real-world application of their skills.

2. Identify the hazards associated with power protection systems and understand how to prevent accidents or injuries.
3. Understand the safety measures that must be taken when working on power protection systems.
4. Understand the training and competency requirements for personnel working with power protection systems.
5. Conduct and follow risk assessments, method statements and work instructions, and understand the importance of effective communication and collaboration to ensure safety in power protection systems.
6. Understand the manufacturer’s instructions for safe operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of power protection systems.

Why do I need the PPF-S?

If you work around power protection systems, whether you’re an IT manager, facilities manager, EHS personnel etc. it is important to enhance your awareness and understanding of the potential hazards surrounding these systems for a safer work environment.

What does the qualification allow me to do?

Our course, while theory-based, also provides the opportunity for practical, hands-on experience with diverse power protection equipment at our specialised training facility.

By completing the qualification you will have a greater understanding of these systems and feel far more confident with their operation,.

What level of experience do I need to take the course?

This is an entry level course aimed at industry novices and those who work around power protection systems and/or support those who do. As such there are no formal entry requirements.

How long is the exam?

At the end of the course a short quiz will be conducted to gauge your understanding of topics and procedures taught. While this test cannot be ‘failed’ a breakdown of your result will be provided for further study.

Our state of the art testing & training facility is located in the village of Sharnbrook, with easy access from the M1/A1 and train links from Milton Keynes & Bedford. Dedicated parking is available for attendees on-site.
